Why workplace essentials are emerging as a procurement priority

New research commissioned by COS suggests everyday workplace essentials play a significant role in productivity. The study found that 47.7% of Australian employees say poor-quality supplies or outdated equipment disrupt their work, with issues such as malfunctioning printers and incompatible technology causing regular delays.

COS Co-CEO Belinda Lyone says the findings reinforce the importance of reliable tools and well-maintained work environments. The research also found shared workplace amenities matter, with more than two in five employees saying the quality of bathroom and cleaning products can affect their comfort, wellbeing and productivity.
