COS Acquistion of Sharp Office Customer FAQs

Sharp Office Products Division Transition to COS

From 3 August 2026, COS will service customers of Sharp Office’s Office Products Division, including office supplies, furniture and branded merchandise (print and promotional products).

Sharp Office will continue to own and operate its Print Solutions business, including copiers, printers and managed print services.

For customers, this brings together the local people, relationships and service you know with COS’s established Newcastle operations with over 30 local team members, a broader product range and national capability. COS is an Australian family-owned business that has been supporting Australian workplaces and schools since 1977.

This guide explains what the transition means for customers and any actions you may need to take.

About The Transition

From 3 August 2026, the Office Products Division of Sharp Office will transition to COS. COS will become responsible for supplying and servicing customers purchasing office products, furniture and print branded merchandise (print and promotional products).

The shared priority of Sharp Office and COS is to make the transition as smooth as possible and minimise disruption to customers’ day-to-day ordering, delivery, service and support.

The people and relationships customers rely on will continue. Sharp Office Account Managers, Customer Service team members and drivers have joined the COS team, allowing customers to continue working with familiar local contacts. Our priority is to maintain continuity in customers’ day-to-day ordering, delivery, service and support.

Sharp Office will continue to independently own and operate its Print Solutions business. Existing copier, printer and managed print customers will continue to be supported by the Sharp Office team under their existing support arrangements.

Sharp Office has built its reputation across Newcastle and the Hunter through trusted local relationships, responsive service and a strong understanding of its customers. Protecting those strengths is central to the transition.

Into the future, Sharp will focus on the existing copiers, printers and managed print service offering across the Greater Hunter. COS, also a privately-owned, long-established supplier with over 30 team members and a local warehouse and delivery fleet based in Mayfield was the perfect choice to offer Sharp Office customers continued local support while gaining access to a broader range, national buying power and improved digital ordering capability.

Sharp Office’s Office Products Account Managers, Customer Service team members and drivers are also joining the COS team, helping preserve the relationships and local knowledge customers value.

COS is Australia’s largest family-owned and operated workplace and education supplies business, led by second-generation sisters, Co-CEOs Belinda and Amie Lyone.

Founded in 1977 by the late Dominique Lyone, COS has been supporting Australian workplaces and schools for almost 50 years helping to keep them productive, healthy and safe. Today, COS has more than 700 team members nationally, while maintaining local operations and service teams in the communities it supports – including an established warehouse and delivery operation in Newcastle.

Yes. Customers will continue to be supported by people who know their business and the Newcastle and Hunter region.

COS already has an established Newcastle warehouse and local delivery operation. Sharp Office’s Office Products Account Managers, Customer Service team members and drivers are joining COS, helping provide continuity of relationships, local knowledge and service.

The transition will take effect on 3 August 2026. Until advised otherwise, customers should continue working with their usual Sharp Office contacts.

You will continue to be updated regularly on the transition plan via your account manager and direct via email. COS is committed to a smooth transition of all customers. In the meantime, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your Sharp Office account manager or customer service.

Delivery and Local Service

Yes. Your orders will continue to be supported through an established local Newcastle operation. COS already has a warehouse and delivery fleet in Newcastle, and Sharp Office drivers are joining the COS team. This combines the local delivery knowledge customers value with the capacity, range and support of COS’s broader national network.

There will be no change to the current order cut-off time. COS’s priority is to maintain continuity and minimise disruption to customers’ ordering and delivery arrangements.

We recognise the importance of the driver in your delivery experience and understand that drivers often understand customers’ delivery locations, access requirements and preferences. All Sharp Office drivers have been offered employment with COS as part of the transition.

We aim to maintain continuity where possible. However, some routes may change as delivery operations are integrated. If your delivery requires drivers to be inducted into your location, have swipe card access or police clearances we will ensure there is a smooth transition between drivers taking these requirements into consideration.

COS will take customer access requirements into consideration during the transition. This includes site inductions, swipe-card access, police clearances and other security requirements. Customers should confirm their current requirements with their Account Manager so that any necessary arrangements can be made before a driver or route changes.
