Harmony Week is a time to celebrate diversity, inclusivity, and cultural richness in schools by fostering positive relationships between students.

For teachers, one wonderful way to engage students in this celebration through craft activities that not only promote creativity but also serve as a means to convey a powerful message of unity and harmony.

One fantastic way to captivate young minds on this significant topic is through printable templates, providing an opportunity for their creativity to run wild.

We’ve put together a fun and educational ‘Lotus Flower Craft Worksheet’ for kids – an enjoyable and educational project that encourages artistic expression and prompts reflection on the importance of harmony and unity.

The worksheet features step-by-step instructions to empower students to craft their lotus flowers using readily available materials such as crayons, markers, glue, and scissors.

Let the fun begin…

Materials Needed:

  1. Lotus Flower Craft Template (Attached Worksheet)
  2. Scissors
  3. Colouring supplies (crayons, markers, or coloured pencils)
  4. PVA glue or glue stick
  5. Coloured markers for writing

Crafting Process:

  1. Download worksheet: To begin this activity, start by downloading the free lotus Harmony Week flower worksheets below.

  2. Colouring and Personalisation: After downloading, encourage students to use vibrant colours of their choice, whether they are crayons, pencil colours, or markers, to fill in the petals and lotus pad.

  3. Writing Process: Prompt students to express their thoughts about Harmony Day by writing a single word or phrase on the lotus petals.

  4. Cutting Out the Lotus: Once colouring is complete, guide students to carefully cut out the lotus petals and pad along the marked edges.

  5. Creating a Display: When the lotus petals and pad are neatly cut out, students can arrange and stick them together using a glue stick or PVA glue, creating the shape of a lotus flower as displayed in the first worksheet.
