1. Earth Day - Counting Worksheet

This fun Earth Day activity help kids practise counting while learning about ways to care for our planet. As kids find and count each picture, they’ll also discover important Earth-friendly icons and what they do!

Things You’ll Need:

1. Get Ready
Begin by downloading and printing your Earth Day Counting Worksheet.

2. Look at the Worksheet
You will see different Earth Day icons (like recycling symbols, trees, Earth, water drops, light bulbs, bags, and more) spread out across the page.

3. Choose a Picture
Pick one type of picture to start with.

4. Count Carefully
Count how many of that picture you can see. They may be in different places, so look closely!

5. Point as You Count
Point to each picture while counting to help you keep track.

6. Write the Number
Write the total number in the box next to that picture.

7. Keep Going
Move to the next picture and repeat the steps.

8. Check Your Work
Look over your answers to make sure you counted everything correctly.

9. Think About Earth
As you count, think about how each item helps take care of our Earth.

2. Earth Day - Interactive Waste Sorting Activity

This hands-on Earth Day activity helps children learn how to sort waste correctly while developing cutting, matching, and problem-solving skills.

By placing items into the correct bins, students understand how to care for the environment in a fun and practical way.

Things You’ll Need:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Get Ready
Download and print your Earth Day Interactive Waste Sorting Worksheet.

2. Look at the Bins
You will see different bins on the worksheet:

  • Red Bin – General waste
  • Green Bin – Organic waste
  • Yellow Bin -Recycling
  • Blue Bin -Paper/Cardboard

3. Colour the Bins
Colour each bin to match its label (red, green, yellow, and blue).

4. Read the Labels
Each bin has labels (such as newspapers/magazines, office paper, junk mail, egg cartons, soft plastics, and more). These will help you decide where each item belongs.

5. Cut Out the Pictures
Carefully cut along the dotted lines to separate the waste item pictures at the bottom of the page.

6. Colour the Pictures
Colour the items before pasting them to make your worksheet bright and fun.

7. Match the Items
Look at each picture and decide which label it belongs to. Think about what the item is made of and how it should be thrown away or recycled.

8. Paste in the Correct Section
Glue each item into the correct section of the bin that matches the label.

9. Complete All Bins
Continue until all items are sorted into the correct bins.

10. Fold the Bins
When you’re done, carefully fold along the lines to create a fun 3D bin effect.

11. Think About Earth
Take a moment to think about how sorting waste helps care for our Earth and keeps it clean and healthy.
